Minimalism again?... Yes!

Hey there guys. I am glad to write another post about minimalism and this time, I am gonna give you five simple and sensible reasons to become a minimalist. I will also be sharing two more reasons additional to the other five as a bonus since we all love bonuses. Cheers!!!

We live in a culture where 'you gotta consume more things' is the advice everybody gives to a person directly or indirectly. Don't you think that we must stop blaming the society for that and blame ourselves instead. The reason I am telling you this is because we DO NOT consume when we DO NOT buy. This is something to ponder upon.

Five reasons to become a minimalist

Here are your five reasons to become a minimalist.

1. Reduces stress.

Have you ever been in a situation where you have just entered your home and it is a complete mess?
If it is a yes then you know exactly what would be running through your mind at that time.

'Ugh! Look at the mess' ,
a. We need a bigger house (Really?)
b. We gotta clean this mess up (which would ideally take an hour or more)
c. We gotta hire a maid (uh huh?)

Have you ever thought, 'What if we owned less/make conscious purchasing decisions?'. You wouldn't have to complain the next time you stepped into your home. You wouldn't need a bigger house, you wouldn't have to clean the mess up, you wouldn't have to hire a person just to clean up your clutter.

Minimalism helps you reduce the stress of reorganising & sorting your stuff.

2. Efficient time management .

YES. Believe it or not, owning only what you need saves you a lot of time & energy spent on arranging all your stuff over and over again. You could be doing so many other productive things.
It helps you go on auto mode and helps you build good habits and even routines that could be very beneficial to your personal growth.

3. A big money saver.

I would like to mention this first 'minimalism is compromising on QUANTITY and not on QUALITY (depending on what you're buying)'.
Listen. Just buy what you need and how much you need.

Once you embrace minimalism, it is all about buying things that you really need or the things that add value to your life.

You would be saving a lot of money and you could start investing that money into personal growth. For example- updating your skills for your current/future job, a certification that would help you with promotion at your job, a course that you have been wanting to do etc.

You could spend that money on experiences. For example -A trip, a minimalistic vacation, charity etc.

You could invest that money into building your wealth. For example - opening a savings account, investing in stock market, RD, FD, PPF, mutual funds, real estate etc.

(I will be talking about money, investments and building wealth very soon).

4. Less wastage.

Minimalism helps in reducing waste & keeping the environment safe and clean. We tend to just throw away stuff once we feel it does not serve a purpose anymore in our lives or when it doesn't make us happy anymore.

We dispose things without even thinking where it goes once we throw it in our bins. We think our job is done when we throw a piece of paper into the dustbin & we just forget about it.

When we look at the bigger picture it is not only the factories or big companies who are polluting our environment by disposing the waste into lakes, rivers and the oceans, we are to be blamed equally because we are consuming their final product in excess and throwing it away whenever the new version is released every year , which is directly contributing to mass production and excess waste.

Therefore, own less and save our environment.

5. Living an intentional life.

Minimalism gives you clarity on what is important and what isn't. This is when you make intentional purchasing decisions and for the first time in your life you will know what you will need and what you will not. Isn't that great?

The next time you go shopping, you will make a conscious decision whether to buy that shirt, that dress or whatever it is that you struggle the most with, when it comes to impulsive buying.

A tip - TRY to make a list of things that you need before going shopping. I personally use google keep to make a shopping list, make notes, to do lists, for reminders etc. Cultivate this habit and you will thank yourself for doing so.

Here are the two bonus reasons, just as I promised. (Simple, yet powerful)

6. Changes your perception towards things and relationships.

This one is for you to think and I would like to sum this one up with a quote -
"Love people and use things"  - The Minimalists

7. Redefines success in your life.

This one is for you to think as well and I would like to sum this one up with a quote -

"Success is not defined by the things that you own or your net worth, it is defined by the things that add value to your life and your network.   - V.M.P

I hope I added some value to your life. If I did, share this with as many people as possible. TIA
